Yet another backwards prerequisite

The fact that Daz3d helps you find prerequites and warns you when you don't own one when you buy the add-on is a great feature. But it will only work if someone correctly maintains the database for such info.

For example -   https://www.daz3d.com/road-star-iray-textures-add-on ;

This item's name annouces itself as an add-on for Road Star, which is clearly the case. Yet there is no "require product" listed.  Even worse, the Road Star is listed at the bottom of the page as an "add-on". Um... No. That is precisely backwards.

I complained in this forum, about the same type of snafu on the Kiko 8.1 base product.which shows exactly 3 addons as "required products". More than a week later that error also remains uncorrected.

FUMP! FUMP!  Hello. Is this mic on?

Probably not. When there is an error, it needs to be reported to technical support and a ticket taken out. Technical support may, or may not, respond in a timely manner. There are a couple of threads that are actively monitored, but the mic is firmly and intentionally off for most of the forum. Reason being: mods keep the discussion civilised and there are so many threads to keep track of that it's a waste of time to try to extract the important stuff from the background chatter.

The "Required Products" field has been broken for years, it has been disappearing from/reappearing on product pages in unpredictable ways.  I did some experiments some years ago shifting browsers, logging in and out etc., trying to find a pattern but no luck.  The screenshot below is from the old Magento store, an example where the field shows when logged out but not when logged in.  Unfortunately it wasn't that simple, it seemed to disappear and reappear at random, on random pages, whether you were logged out or in, and no matter what browser you were using.  Whether they finally have fixed it in the new store though I don't know.

Thank you for the responses, however.

richardandtracy: That's fine. Now that I understand they will not take the effort to fix theire own broken "stuff" unless I do their paperwork and help them administer their internal processes for them, I am content to let their site deteriorate. Nothing kills good will faster than assuming the customer's time is worth nothing. (E.g. phone companies.) Not monitoring their own forums for feedback is just... well leaves me nonplused.

Taoz, Your example does not show a real error to my thinking. The example you give is just showing incompete info when no longer relevant (product already purchased) which is understandable and I could go either way about it being appropriate. The inconsistency is annoying though.  The items I am pointing out are unambiguously and consistently in error.

It's not about the "Purchased" button, but the "Required Products" field.  Note that it is missing on one of the screenshots, but present on the other.  It should be there always, on the product page, but disappears/reappears at random no matter if you're logged in or not.  Or at least it did, but I think have seen pages for addons in the new store which do not have the field when they IMO should.

Store errors are best reported in the sales thread. You can also put in a ticket, but in my experience, that takes longer to get looked at.

Peace bro, understood that. The required product is not there when logged in. I just pointed out that that could be due to the purchased status. Now if the required product failed to show if you were logged in and you didn't own it, that would definitely be an error. Personally I think you are right to be annoyed because it is a pointless complexity, even if showing "required product" is less relevant once you own the item.

That is the thread I used to report the kiko 8.1 issue, which is actually more severe since is generate false warnings if you buy the base product (not the bundle).

It just got buried in all the other noise.

As for opening a ticket. I don't work for daz. I don't volunteer to do tedious administrative tasks, office paperwork, take out the trash, or clean the microwave in the break room. They're a successful for profit company, they don't need my charity.

Edit: Sorry, Re-reading my post, I sound mad at you. I'm not. Thank you for trying to help.

Like I explained in my first post it has nothing to do with login or purchase status, I just showed login status on the screenshots to explain their different purchase status and prices, in case someone should wonder.

And DAZ did acknowledge the problem last time I pointed it out (a good while before the store update last fall), but at that time they said they were unable to track down the bug.  Because it was complex and couldn't be linked to anything specific thing like login, browser type, purchase status etc..

But I'm keeping an eye on it in case the problem should still be there.  I have managed to purchase products myself without realizing that they required another product, because the field was missing at that time.  I'm also collecting product page data for my offline product database and if that field is missing it breaks the internal references between main product and add-ons.
