DAZ Studio Pro 4.15 without Filament?

Hi,

although there was the big announcement about Filament with DAZ 4.15, I can't find it.
Your advertisement suggests, that filament render is included.

But there isn't any in the render engine selection and the Filament entry for the workspace render is disabled.

Why doesn't the advertisement fit to the real product?

What additional components to purchse?

Are you using a Mac? Filament is only in the Windows version for now.

    Hi Leana,

I'm one of those "normal" Win7 pro 64bit users.
    Sorry, forgot to tell. wink

Allthough I haven't tried the filament. I still see the options on my W7 Ultimate+DS 4.15

I'm not sure if it matters, but are you running the 64 bit version of Daz Studio, and have you entered your Daz Studio serial number to enable the "Pro" features?

Yes, serial number entered, OK-Button but no confirm, and filament stays inactive.

DAZ info shows Version 4.15.0.2 Pro Edition (64bit) including my account name.

    Hi,

related to my Filament problem I opened a trouble ticket.
Now I got the question whether I have crashes trying to "login".

I'm really irritated: Is it necessary to use "Connect" for Filament usage?

What if I'm not connected to the WWW ??

DS does not require online connection or logging in to the DS

You havent told us, what kind of computer you have and which GPU (and drivers) it is using.

One source of information is the DS log that you can find in Help->Troubleshooting->View Log File, maybe you could attach the log to your post with "Attach a file", found above the "Post Comment" button.

Please see my second entry on top. And of cause no special GPU, only onboard graphics. (So CPU-only) wink No hints in the log-file, which I already sent within the trouble ticket (already stated above, too).

For iRay I have a different mashine with nVidia GPUs. But this is a very well working perfect 4.10 installation which I won't corrupt by experiment with new releases.

I still don't see a description of what kind of a computer you have, Windows 7 is just the operating system you are using on it.

If you showed us the logfile, we might find the explanation there, but please do not copy the log to the message area, but attach it with "Attach a file" above the "Post Comment" button.

    Hi PerttIA,

No idea what you want to find in the log what helpdesk didn't see.

The Filament related dll is listed and only warnings related to iray due to non-existence of GPU.
The PC is a normal i5 and - as already stated: Win7 pro x64, 8GB

And thank you, but I know how to do it here. First had to eliminate personal data.

There is no such thing as "Normal i5", all the PC's are a collection of components and there is an infinite number of combinations of what the PC is built out of.

    But, yes I did find the reason inside your logfile;

2021-06-30 22:57:52.579 OpenGL features for current hardware:
    2021-06-30 22:57:52.579 OpenGL provider: Intel
    2021-06-30 22:57:52.579 OpenGL renderer: Intel(R) HD Graphics 2500
    2021-06-30 22:57:52.579 OpenGL version: 4.0.0

    Real-Time Rendering

    • Added a real-time physically based rendering option to the DrawStyle Options menu in viewports
      • Filament (PBR) - Implements the Filament renderer as a DrawStyle
      • Requires: Windows (currently), 64-bit, OpenGL > 4.1

    Nice!

Why isn't there a hint in the log-file?
For every small problem there are warnings and error hints in it (i. e. iRay, shaders, etc.), but no remark on disabling filament.

Install of newer driver on my system not possible.

    So thank you,

but the driver you linked, only is OpenGL 1.1 (Message from DAZ trying to start, but quit due to too low version. angry
