Question about D Force..

I'm still new to Daz, so I'm sorry if this sounds stupid but I was wondering if it was possible bring the D Force physics into C4D when exporting?

PS: Also is there anyway of knowing if the costumes you're buying from the marketplace are RSL or MDL?

Thanks

That depends on how you mean. dForce is a proprietary cloth simulation engine inside DS, so if you port something to another program (in this case, C4D), you would no longer get to use dForce to simulate the clothing. However, C4D and other 3D apps have their own cloth simulation system, so you would just use that instead, and honestly probably get comparable if not better results. If what you mean is that you want to take the shape of clothing after dForce simulation and send that to C4D, you can export it as OBJ or Alembic and get the shape into C4D as-is.

As far as RSL vs. MDL, there isn't always a surefire way to know. Some things come with both Iray (MDL) and 3Delight (RSL) textures, but most come with one or the other, primarily depending on their age. Iray was introduced during the Genesis 3 era, I think around 5 years ago, so anything older than that will use RSL, and most things after that with MDL. Anything for Genesis 8 should be assumed to have Iray textures only unless otherwise stated.

Thank you for the direct response!

Would you happen to know much about C4D's cloth simulation system?

I'm not an expert, but I could probably give you some guidance.

For clothing simulation the C4D cloth engine is inferior even to poser Use the sagan Alembic exporter
