Question about copying poses

Fae3DFae3D Posts: 2,627

I have a Genesis 8 Male posed a certain way in my scene.  I just added another Genesis 8 Male, and I want him posed exactly the same way.  But I can't seem to find a way to copy poses?  I tried clicking "Memorize Pose", but that didn't let me paste it, either.  I don't want to copy the figure shape, just the pose.  Any ideas?

Have you considered saving the pose and just use it on your other figure?

Memorize Pose makes the current joint rotations the default, so that zeroing the slider out (alt+LMB) returns it to that setting, rather than 0. To copy a figure, click on the hamburger in the Parameters pane, select Copy -> Copy Figure. Then select your other character, click on the hamburger, and Paste -> Paste Figure Pose.

    That's what I do.

    File>SaveAs>Pose Preset

That did the trick!  Thank you!  And the reason I didn't save the pose was because it was a mix of a purchased pose and my own posing, and I didn't really need it for anything else.  Thank you all!

Funny how we all have different ways of working. When I start a project I create a folder just for saving things like poses, material settings, character variations, etc. They are usually only specific to that project but I link that "Saved" folder to my DAZ Libraries so that I can access the saved files from my Content tab. When the project is done and I start a new one, I link another folder and so on.

I have a sub folder of my personal file that is called "temporary poses." It contains, you guessed it, temporary poses. I will save a go to pose after I have gotten it just right whenever I need to do a dforce simulation or something. I periodically clean this folder of poses from completed images. I figure if I really need it again for whatever reason, I can just make a new one from the scene file. I never delete those.

I just stumbled onto this method today, except I used the menu at the top of the interface. It's good to know there's another way.
