I love you, Daz, but your promos are going to drive me to drink

This image highlights everything that's wrong with how Daz markets its items. What is for sale? The dress? The Hair? Nope, none of that, just the character itself. And when you click and find that out, there's no link to what she's wearing or her hair. I can't count how many times I've clicked on something in the store, seeing EXACTLY what I was looking for, only to find it wasn't actually what was for sale and no link to what I'd seen. I know it's extra work, but is it too much to ask that vendors ONLY use items in their promo images that are for sale on the Daz store and LINKS to everything in the images? I love using Daz and I would buy MORE if it wasn't such a nightmare finding what I need for a project.

Many Published Artists outsource their promos to people on DeviantArt or other art forums, so there's a good chance they themselves don't know what products are used in the renders.
Not to mention the HORRIBLE horseback rider. You don't hold reins like that, with elbows totally drawn back into the body, with the arm pointing UP and the reins fisted and IN THE AIR. Reins stay LOW, with the arm extended toward the base of the horse's neck. Owned horses for 45 years but even this child knows how to hold the reins.
Not to mention his heels aren't down in the stirrups, the feet are sloped totally in the wrong direction, with his toes pointing down. Seriously, who did that promo render?
Brannick, you have been here since 2007 and you still haven't realized the banner image is never an indication of what is being offered? It is always just a gateway to seeing what items are actually being offered. Ilearned a long time ago to just look at the product page and the description and that "usually" tells me what there is to purchase.
This is the hair:

FSMCDesigns: Oh, I know, just expressing an old frustration. And it's not just the promo banners, it's the whole store. I've searched for just hair and gottent dresses, characters, etc. Or Dresses and gotten hair and people. It's like the search restrictions are just a very rudimentary guideline. It's a shame, some of the items DO list eveything used and I am SO grateful to those vendors. They've saved me what hair I have left! But it would be nice if it became an ongoing thing.
This was funny when I read your comment, since I owned horses for 10 years as well, I thought exactly the same, oh my goodness this HORRIBLE horseback rider

Probably just a city slicker that borrowed a horse to impress a girl. Won't be so impressive when he falls off, but whatever.
It's also the default nature of the Horse 2 reins, though. They don't really bend much, as I recall. All the Horse 2 tack/gear is kind of a pain to work with because it's static, and it makes Western stuff kind of hard to deal with. At least, that is my impression from the last time I played with it.
It looks thrown together in 5 seconds.I wouldn't read too much into the banners. They are what they are. Just there to catch the eye and convey the theme.
i share your pain about the "misslead promo banners, a lot of times those banners came with a lot of misslead content, where probably only "half or a little more than half you see is actually part of the promo while everything else not and is really hard to find what they are when specially they are not being advertise in any product making you clueless specially when you like more what is not "part of the promo" than what is part.
Totally cringe...almost as bad as most of the archery poses we get to see in promos, haha.
While we're complaining about promos, there's a hair here (won't mention which) that shows NO images from the back of the head. One can only conclude it doesn't look good from that angle.
Not everyone is an expert on everything. I didn't give the horse rider a second look because I don't know much of anything about riding. What I do think about sometimes is how someone has to make new banner art EVERY DAY and just the thought of having to come up with that many images and decorative text styles negates any need for me to consider criticizing them.
Would you have left a comment on that image in someone's gallery saying how cringy it was and how obviously uninformed the artist was?
