How to properly set up 3d files to import into daz studio?

I fail to make the texture work for daz all the time, I baked the defuse map so I can start from getting the colors right, but with textures, .mtl(with obj ofc) and .fbx files, I just can not get it right.

So can anybody tell me how to do this? Share your workflow please, or please tell me how to properly load the textures for props and save them into(stick with the prop) a prop.

Or please give me a link to exiting discusion I can not find any that fix my problem.

Thanks

    Hi, Put the textures you have made into "your" folder, to be a subfolder in the Runtime folder called Textures. {My Library > Runtime > textures ....}

    Then open Daz Studio and import in the .obj file. On the surface tab find 'base' or 'diffuse' {depends which shader is applied} and on the little square, click. Browse to and select your texture image. Make any other adjustments desired on the Surface Tab.

    Then up top of D/S go to File > Save As > Supports Assets > Figure/prop assets > ..... and save your new prop. {to your subfolder or whatever under My Library but NOT in the Runtime's folders}. My Library > Props > ..... for example.

  • I have a similar question; I used V4 and attached Technophilia items to it that transforms it into a robot, but when I save it and import in Daz Studio, the model comes out black instead of chrome or silver. These files are the Vol2 Chic files from the Gynoids folder. Anyone has encountered this problem that can help out here? Thanks.
