iClone 7 vs DAZ Studio What's the pros and cons

Hi there,

I've been reading and seeing so much content about iclone 7 and I was looking into it and its quite impressive as to what you can do.
So what I want to know is, is it worth using iClone 7? Or is Daz Studio just as good?

Yes, Daz Studio is so good - you only need to discover all of its features.

Look also at iClone forums to get a different opinion.

You will find much more information about iClone on its own forum.

I have puchased my first iClone 3 from Daz 3D shop almost 13 years ago and iClone 7 pipeline and Character Creator from Reallusion directly.

Although I like iClone, I still prefer using Daz Studio and Unity.

Daz Studio - for simplicity, Unity - for its real time 3D graphics and programming possibilities - better than iClone for my purposes.

Its animation is much better than the current studio 4.15, but who knows what studio 5 has in store for us... As far as character creation, Daz studio is unmatched, you need only look to the T-Rex/Dragon morphs for GM8.1 to see that; not only do you have a plethora of dialed morphs to choose from, but you can create anything you want via GOZ, provided that you stay within the same UV as Genesis, that means no clay brushes or subdivisions!

When you aske is one better than the other, that all depends on your end goal. Each is developed for specific purposes. The only area were they really overlap is in animation

the iClone pipeline plays better with other softwares, I am still only on iClone 6 myself and 3DX6 because it is expensive D|S is free.

If you are rendering single images honestly stick with DAZ studio,

That is DAZ studio's strength and it is far ahead at the game with it.

However if you want to jump between multiple softwares and Not land back into D|S for the final render, do quick animations, create games then use iClone.

I use it easily with Carrara importing FBX for example, D|S cannot import its rigged FBX.

I also use Unreal Engine and need more steps as on 6 (no live link) and it plays well with that.

Apparently 7 has a seamless bridge to Blender too.

Thanks to everyone for their input. It gives me an idea for sure.
However, I am really curious with Daz Studio 5 coming out later this year. That's going to be interesting.
