How do import all my data and settings into a new bata version?
I imagine this has been asked and answered a number of times; but you know how good the forum search engine is. If you happen to know where it has been answered, kindly point me to it.
Since installing a number of G8.1F products into DS 4.15.0.2, Studio has been behaving bizarrely. For example it forces all my figures that have out of limit joints to obey the program preset limits. This messes up nearly all of my scenes. (Yes I have set the content preferences to always turn the limits off.) So I thought I would try the new beta to see if it would fix the problem.
But when I start up the new beta is a virgin setup. Neither my user interface specs nor my content folders are imported or preserved by the new version. To set it up all over again would take a lot of time. Is there some way to export the UI settings and the content library settings from DS 4.15.0.2 then to import them into the beta DS 4.15.0.14? I have tried exporting my user metadata from DS 4.15.0.2; it hangs without completing. (The windows task manager shows it doing nothing. so I terminated the process.) When I exported the user data per the instructions at https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/990669/#Comment_990669 , UserData_1 was not in the folder indicated by the instructions. I will use windows to search for it.
This seems like something that ought to be done automatically or if not there ought to be a FAQ entry explaining how to do it. But I cannot find it. I greatly appreciate any and all of your help!

Update: I found UserData_1.dsx it was in K:\Daz 3D\DAZ 3D Library\Runtime\Support not in K:\Daz 3D\DAZ 3D Library, which is the first one listed in the "DAZ Studio Formats" section. Given that, there is no explamation of how to import UserData_1.dsx into the DS beta.
This will copy the UI http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/general_ui/copy_ui_from_channel/start
This will create a script to be run in the active version which will create a script to be run in the new version to apply the same content directories http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/save_mapped_paths/start
User data is not related to the UI or content directorys et up, it is for metadata (categories and so on) for files that you created, or for files to which you added your own categories, and as long as the content directories are set correctly the import option should find it.
Thank you, Richard!
