Fatal error!

Just got a new AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6 core PC with NVidia Gigabyte RXT 3060 graphics card, 16 GB ram and 64 bit Windows 10 Home.

Every time I try using DAZ Studio (4.15) I get a fatat error after about ten minutes.

What on earth is wrong here?

Go to Help and click on the log file and go through it and post the warnings that you find

Do you get anything more than fatal error? If this is the Daz Studio crash dialogue it should give at least a bit more information, as well as the opportunity to save a full crash report to a zip.

If you run the dxdiag dialog from the cmd line and download the text file, it can give you some clues

    1. Go to search

    2. type cmd

    3. type dxdiag

    4. click 'save all information

There will be a text file if you save it to you desktop.

    5. Click to open the file in your text reader app

    6. Under the information Towards the bottom is:

    Windows Error Reporting:

    Diagnostics.

    7. See if there is info in the diagnostics section which might indicate the problem.

  • Serene Night Thank you for that. I checked the DxDiag file. There were no problems logged there.

I'm wondering if the problem is the intallation of DAZ Studio itself. When it installed via DAZ Central, it kept stopping at around 75%, had to be restarted and would restart at 57%. I had to restart several times, which makes the idea of uninstalling an reinstalling rather daunting.

    DAZ Central really doesn't deliver.

Do you have any old DAZ Studio versions backed up you can try?
