What's The differences in files Legacy, CF etc

in The Commons
Can anyone tell me the differences in files that come with some of our downloads. I know DS is Daz Studio and PS is Poser. But confused about Legacy and CF. I use only Daz Studio so I am not sure if I even need to install those files. I do at times but do not really not the difference or the effects it has other then adding to my file size in my library.

Legacy is generally for older versions of the application (either pre-.duf, or possible for the change in SS behaviour in Iray around 4.8).
CF is a companion files - an add on to go with the base product to make it more useful in the application in question (e.g. Bryce CF will be a Bryce scene into which the content can be loaded, a Daz Studio CF will usually be native materials for Poser content, a Poser CF will usually be the library files to enable a Daz Studio product to load through the DSON Importer).
Thanks, Richard that is very helpful, now I can no longer needlessly install files I do not need. My Daz Library thanks you :D
One note though... Although the legacy files are meant for older versions of DS, sometimes the geometry files are also located in different folders than on the newer versions of the product - If you then have add-on products (from some other creator) that have not been updated, which are still looking for the files in old locations, those product may not work.
For that reason, if there is a legacy version of the product, I will install that one first and then the current version afterwards, the old geometry files are not taking that much space anyways.
Thanks for the heads up I will look out for that issue
