Files not found?
So, I'm completely new to Daz3D. I used the install manager to get everything done, and it looks all in order there. So, the first thing I did when I opened it up was create a figure. This is where it went downhill. The files tried loading, but went to a screen telling me some files couldn't be found. It then showed me a block figure instead of the Genesis figure I thought I'd see. I went and looked at the path the missing files needed to go, but I found they were already there.
At this point, I figured I somehow messed up the installation process. So I uninstalled the main file for Daz3D, and re-installed it. When I opened it, it did the same. At this point I became frustrated, and just uninstalled ALL the files, then re-installed them. Still this hasn't done the trick.
Again, I'm new at this, but I assumed it would have been a straightforward install, seeing as they have an install manager. Using the free Genesis and other models was one of the things I was looking forward to when using Daz3D, and everything is completely unusable.
Please help!

In DAZ Studio press F2. Then select Conent Library, then Content Directory Manager. Make sure the paths for DAZ and Poser are set up for the correct paths where the content is installed.
(If you're not sure where the files are installed to check the box in the bottom right of install manager to see details of where it has installed the files.)
Hopr this helps.
This has worked, thank you so much!
Note that this does nothing except take up time — content installation is not affected by uninstalling/reinstalling the program. The only way to fix this is to get into the Content Directory Manager as noted upthread and make sure DAZ|Studio is looking for content in the same place as the Installation Manager has put it. The two programs do not talk to each other.
Doesn't it seem like 90% of new users have this problem? Is there something that could be added to Daz Studio to walk us through the content database setup when the program is opened for the first time? Or maybe there is, it's been so long since I installed it.
I had this problem yesterday, and got help from here.
I would just like to say that I have used the software for almost a year on and off, and this has never happend before.
On my laptop there's no problem, but from one day to Another, something happened on my stationary computer.
Yes, I am a newbie, but this is still a new problem for me, and I have istalled the program a couple of times
with my own paths without this ever being an issue.
I have no idea what the problem is, I just wanted to mention this. =)
It just seems that lately, about every other day someone posts a question about installing daz studio and some content, but not being able to get the content to show up. And usually the answer is the same: you need to set up your content database to point to your proper directory. Seasoned users just take this for granted, but it seems such a basic thing that it should be included in an opening walkthrough the first time the program is opened. And again, maybe it is and its just being overlooked, or there is documentation that is not being read. It has been so long since ive installed the program I dont remember. But could that be submitted as a feature request?

Do these links pop up within Daz Studio when the program is installed?

Yes, on a clean install the Help > Home dialog should come up on first launch.
So i have done the F2 export folder options, and defaulted the folders. My issue is that everything i use Bridge from DAZ TO c4D only the bones get transferred. No 3d model, no texture, and i reinstalled and everything. what should i do?
