Ground Rules Post your system specs.

You must be able to support this card. You must show the need for an upgrade. Free to some who will not turn around a sell it on eBay. Must live in USA  No postage needed. Use https://www.cpuid.com/ software to verify your system and post the link after you summit results. Like my system below.

I only have a 980Ti but I live in Australia

but I am OK winkhave other priorities and find many workarounds (Like using Carrara cheeky)  and parcels get stolen so hope you find someone near you.

Man, I wish my system would support that. I'm only running on a 1050ti. Super generous of you, though. smiley

I was given an RTX 2060 by a very generous forum member. It is a wonderful upgrade from my 980 TI. I use it for hours every day. It runs faster, quieter and cooler. It is nice to see another forum member passing a good card like that on to fellow Daz user. yes

Wow, very generous of you. Thanks, whether I get chosen or not. I live in the midwestern USA. The main spec you are interested in is I have a PNY GeForce GTX 1650 Super 4GB.

I'd love an RTX capable card for nVidia Omniverse. Should I get chosen then that leaves me the task of giving away the nVidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super 4GB that I'd no longer need, which I'll do in this thread as well or a new one if prefered. It's no slouch either but not RTX capable and at 4GB scenes are more limited in size and complexity than a 6GB card.

Oh, it is a SeaSonic S12III 450 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply which my PCPartPicker account says can handle replacing my PNY GeForce GTX 1650 Super 4GB with a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Windforce OC.

Well, technically the card I was forced to choose in PCPartPicker uses more wattage than the version in the picture you posted but they are very close is power requirements.

Here is a link to the PCPartPicker configurator that said that:

My PC with a Gigabyte GEForce RTX 2060 Windforce OC 6GB - Ryzen 7 2700 3.2 GHz 8-Core, GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB WINDFORCE OC, Versa H17 MicroATX Mini Tower - PCPartPicker

I build this PC linked above from November 2019 - February 2020 piecemeal via used parts returned to Amazon sold 2nd hand. Boy did I luck out as I finished right before the current crypto craze. The only difference is I have a PNY GEForce GTX 1650 Super 4GB instead of the Gigabype GEForce RTX 2060 Windforce OC 8GB listed in that link.

Thanks, It would be no problem as I could buy a 500 watt or 550 watt PS if the 450 watt one wasn't enough. I'm quite sure it's enough though as I don't overclock my CPU or GPU despite th BIOSes for the motherboard and video cards allowing for it. Estimated wattage for my PC with the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Windforce 6GB is 347 watts leaving 103 watts with my current power supply of unused wattage available for peak wattage rates for the video card in excess to what PCPartPicker already estimated.

It's late in the evening now. Thanks & ciao.

I used to help build systems for a charity and saw most of my used hardware was going home with the Techs. So I started doing this on other forums. This is a great community. As Dartanbeck says Platinum Club FOREVER

    Oh my!

I am just a poor boy, though my PC can totally support that, it is currently rendering the heck out of an animation. As soon as it's done I'll have to run that specs thingy and post here - and pray it's still available!

  • AgitatedRiotAgitatedRiot Posts: 4,437

    I'm doing a simple render. 2days 14hrs 18mins into it, it's 91.81%. I thought it was a simple render.

When you run the program just post the web address It will open a page  for me to look at.

Yes, any scene with lots of windows and/or water and other many translucency and reflective settings will be slow even with a RTX 3090 24GB card.

My main reason for wanting an RTX card is because they are required to use nVidia Omniverse, which is a suite of tools for folk that wish to do game development and/or animation, that makes it easier to do some of those tasks. Which are quite slow work and mistake prone. The AI of Omniverse corrects some of my mistakes with it's database of AI solutions from others repititions of doing the same sort of tasks I would be doing.

Also an RTX card can do DLSS upscaling while my current video card cannot. So say with DLSS I render an animation at 720P aka HD and use DLSS to upscale it to FHD (aka 1080P). I could upscale again to 4K using DLSS but, unless the rendered animation looked good at 1080P it probably wouldn't gain much to do so as 4K televisions and monitors can all competently upscale from FHD/1080P.

Another very interesting use of DLSS and the one that's actually more interesting to me is if I were to scan in my many old family album pictures and use DLSS to sharpen and repair the color bleeding and other problems old photos can have. DLSS can use it's past DB of photos to have created an AI solution for fixing my photos that is much better than all but the top professionals when used judiciously. I'd say, it's better than top professionals when used judiciously. Or at least that's my hope. I know it's been used to upscale modern low resolution and noisy photos with realistic clean effects but how well would it clean up old double exposed photos from the 1920s and so on? I will be trying (someday).

+++++ LINK TO MY MACHINE SPECS AS REQUESTED +++++

Also, to correct my earlier post and post my current machine specs in a format, as AgitateRiot asked, here are my machine's specs:

    AMD Ryzen 7 2700 @ 3339.29 MHz - CPU-Z VALIDATOR (x86.fr)

Not listed in those specs is the power supply. I have SeaSonic S12III 450 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply which according to PCPartPicker has about 103 watts free were I to get the video card on offer here. I'm not sure of high voltage spikes on video cards though but since I didn't play video games on my PC unless I make them, I don't get the high voltage spikes of high framerate professional made video games. I've also been too chicken to ever overclock any CPU or GPU I've ever owned so they'll be no voltage spikes that way either. laugh

Wow 1000W. It's good to hear your render is only taking 173 watts.  What is the size of the render? 4K? Or less?
