How to forget a prop

in The Commons
I've got a rigged prop I need to re-start due to some issues I've identified.
How do I get Daz to "forget" the prop I created from that object file - when I import it again it automatically creates my prop.
Thanks!

The files are probably still lurking in the data folder. When you save as a Support Asset -> Figure/Prop Asset, a data folder to save the DS native geometry and UV map is created with the name you entered in the Product and Vendor fields for the Save Options dialog. You will probably get the same info when you load your object again because, as you say, it remembers. After loading, check the Scene Identification to get the path to the prop's data folder. Clear your scene, delete the folder, and purge the memory (or restart Studio) to get rid of any lingering cached data, then start over.
So I gave this a try.
I deleted the reference from the "Data" folder as well as the "Data/Product" folder - now it just throws an error and loads a bunch of empty boxes.
Try restart studio.
Well, you said you wanted to restart and have Studio forget the prop, and that's what it did. Now import the object file again and do whatever you need to do, then save as a Support Asset -> Figure/Prop Asset.
I'd just tell myself to remember the prop and I'm assured that my brain will instantly commit that information to the trash bin.
You need to save it as a new asset, then you can delete the old one.
