Freezing on Render

All,
I'm new to DAZ Studio, but I have been using it for about a month, and everything worked perfectly until yesterday. Now, for some reason, whenever i click "Render", it gets to the point of displaying the Geometry Memory Consumption, and then i hear the CPU fan kick on, and then it locks up the whole system, to the point that the mouse cursor is unresponsive. It stays locked like this for anywhere beterrn 2 to 32 minutes (lowest and highest ive seen so far) ... It used to also cause driver_power_state_failed bluescreens, but that at least stopped when i rolled back my nvidia drivers.
My question is, why would DAZ suddenly start maxing out my CPU load? It used to be running azt 50-60% during a render, and now it runs at 121% during a render. What setting could cause such a dramatic change?
My Hardware is as follows:
Procesdsor: Intel Core i7-9700 @ 3.00 GHz (8 CPUs) - overclocked to 4.5GHz
Graphics card: NVidia GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, 8GB VRAM
16 GB System RAM
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
If anyone can help me shed light on this, I'd be truly grateful.
Thanks :)

Is it possible that you are now trying to render larger scenes? If the scene won't fit into your graphics card memory, the render will drop to CPU.
Try loading Daz Studio, click Create > New Primitive > Sphere
Try and render just the sphere.
Also, click the Render Settings tab, then Advanced and see what is checked there. Try unticking the cpu and make sure the GPU is ticked.
Most likely the problem is having just 16GB's of RAM
It's means you are out of both VRAM & system RAM. It's at this stage DAZ Studio used to just crash with Out Of Memory, but now it behaves in the manner you described.
