I got this helmet that I got from sharecg.com years ago and I want to use it NOW!

It's a pp2. file. I try to apply my texture to it but it just turns the mesh darker. lol!

Doesn't ANYBODY know what I can do to apply my own texture to it?

Thanks.

How are you trying to apply the texture? Can you do it in the Surfaces pane?

    Yes.

its just turning dark. Unlike any other model or mesh where you see he texture, this one isn't.

Does the texture render? In the Surfaces pane what Shader is listed at the top left?

The texture renders on everything but this. In the diffuse, I just put in a random background picture. It just renders it darker.

Does the helmet come with textures?

    No. It's just colored.

Maybe it isn't UV mapped. Can you apply a shader to it?

It changes the color, adds the reflective shine, but still no texture.

I think you might be right about it not being UV Mapped.

How should I proceed in getting it UV Mapped?

Nevermind, I have an old copy of that uvmapper program. I'll see if that fixes the problem.
