Textures for Marvelous Designer?

in The Commons
I'm thinking about trying the 30-day trial of Marvelous Designer, but I don't want the clock to start ticking until I've got everything else in order -- like, say, a library of textures and fabrics to use. Does Marvelous Designer include its own starter library of textures or fabrics? Or do most people import them, or create their own in Photoshop or whatnot? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it does but before hand you should download and watch the MD tutorial videos twice. Maybe even take notes, not so much to keep but to help with retention of all that material. Then, you download the free 30 trail of MD so you can work through their tutorials faster.
Now I mean only official MD tutorials not 3rd party tutorials otherwise you'll be overwhelmed with the amount of material to watch.
Make a note of the shortcuts, it will speed you up.
I made the dress in MD and Blender. Someone had a thread asking about a dress similar to 'n', so I knocked that together. It's not finished, just testing out its look before putting more work into it. I tend to do tweaks and the UV islands in blender as I am more comfortable that way, but to each their own workflow.
I bought MD (as opposed to rent), which I don't believe is available anymore - but it is certainly brilliant at what it does.
the MD ones are boring.
there are much better tutorials...
As for textures, just download some from the 324235 websites that have free or purchasable textures (e.g., texture haven, 3dtextures dot me, artstation... or use Daz shaders.)
Yes - especially the main ones like Z,X,C, etc
Hovering over icon should tell you shortcut so remembering them is kinda easy.
And carve out time before you start, just for MD tutor and trial. Don't get side tracked.
That may be true but the OP knows exactly how to find the MD tutorials while you've left the OP guessing as to which of the non-MD 324235 tutorials might be ones that you approve of and which ones are not. The OP only has a 30 day trial of MD after all.
Thanks for the replies. As some of you suggested, I've been watching MD tutorials and taking notes. It looks pretty amazing. Interesting that the included textures are a bit boring. I'm looking for textures elsewhere. I am hardly an expert on fashion, so simple patterns will probably suit me to start.
Does anyone make shoes (e.g., high heels) in MD? Or is it better to model a hard-edged item like that in a traditional modeling program, like Max or ZBrush?
