Hi,
I looked everywhere including the user guide for the answer to this question.
When you use a displacement, like for vascularity, how do you tint the veins?
Thanks.

You would need to put the desired tinting in image for the diffuse channel, or as an LIE overlay.
For an image-based set you'd probably need to use the displacement map, adjusted so the veins were white and the rest black, as a mask in the Layered Image Editor to overlay a reddish solid colour layer on the Diffuse colour map. For a Morph set I'm not sure there are any immediate answers.
Hi Richard,
Which channel would place the mask in Displacement or diffuse? I tried looking in the wiki but the links are broken. Or can you recommend a tutorial on the LIE editor...
Displacement changes the mesh so that it has higher and lower points. The maps for it are generally black to white with middle gray being flat and white being highest depending on the settings used. Diffuse is the color map/main texture. If you want to alter color it is diffuse and if your altering the mesh then displacment.
Thanks for the info Khory...I think that I've worked it out.
In the diffuse channel you have you base skin texture.
You need to add a layer for the colour image and a mask layer with the black and white image.
I'm confused over how you resize in the LIE though as when I tried to do that it resized the base texture as well.
Edited to add image...little dragon tattoo...
Thank you all, this has helped a lot.
