Question about Measure Metrics activation

Does activating Measure Metrics (via inputting the serial number after installation) require an Internet connection?

I ask because I'd want to install it on a machine that I prefer to keep offline, to keep it safe from both cyberattacks and Microsoft's forced (sometimes system-breaking) updates.

Not a big deal if so - I don't really need MM for anything specific. Just seems like an interesting plugin, and the flash sale offers a good price.

I've activated the Plugin and never had Studio online, so I would say no, it doesn't need a connection.

Thanks! I bought it, so Daz owes you one. Used the PC coupon and snagged Castle Creator and three plugins for $33. Pretty decent flash sale.

The only caveat is that you need the same version as Studio to work. You will get the version that goes with 4.15.

Same; I also work offline and had it for a fair bit and use it a lot:  Back in the V6 days I created a character  and used Measure Metrics till I was satisfied with her proportions.  It turned out she had the same measurements as Sofia Vergara, so there's that laugh

Does that much which affects MM change between 4.12 and 4.15? And it seems there's different versions for the 4.15 general and beta builds?

That's not normal for plugins to require a new version for every small iteration of Studio, is it? If something in Studio that the plugin needs has changed, then sure - but this seems a bit excessive.

And it seems reasonable to think that previous versions should be available in the Product Library if a new version is incompatible with all but the latest version of Studio (which some can't run due to hardware issues).

I'll probably keep the plugin - I'm interested in trying 4.15 whenever Daz promotes the current beta to general release status. Unfortunately they've been content damaging their reputation and sales with a very outdated general release, so it'd be nice to have a version of MM that works with 4.12 in the meantime.

There are certain plug-ins that need to be linked with DAZ Studio internals, so they need to be rebuilt with each version. If you use DIM, you would see any plugins that need updating with a Studio version number, ...for DAZ Studio 4.15. (There are other products that specify a minimum version of Studio, but that's for different reasons).

Having bought the released version, you should be able to access the beta if you are into that.

Didn't know that. Most of my plugins are Riversoft products, some of which haven't been updated in years, presumably because they don't need it. Some KindredArts, ManFriday, and Zev0 products, too.

I use DIM to download but not install. It'd be handy to have a list of the plugins sold at Daz that require an update for each new version of Studio.

And yeah, I see both the general and beta versions of MM in my library, along with some files for "Figure Metrics" (?) and "Figure Metrics 1.4" (?) and Measure Metrics v1.8.0.2 (?). Nothing labeled for DS 4.12.1.118, which is the specific one that I'd currently need if every version of DS has a separate version of MM.

I'm wondering if support has access to previous versions. Seems unlikely if there are that many versions of this one plugin.

No, it doesn't. Also, when you start DAZ Studio just start it without logging in but do have CMS database processes started on your local machine.
