DAZ Deals and MalwareBytes

I installed the MalwareBytes update and it installed a "Browser Guard" plugin to my browser (Chrome). The Browser Guard plugin caused DAZ Deals to not function (no Show wislist only, no Only sow items owned, etc). I had completely remove the Browser Guard plugin in order to use DAZ Deals. Is this a known issue?

Mine is still working fine. I have Malwarebytes and the Browser Guard and DazDeals installed as well. I can still see all those things you mentioned.

I tried reinstalling the Browser Guard but it still wouldn't let me see the DAZ Deals addons. Interestingly disabling the Browser Guard plugin still wouldn't let me see the DAZ Deals addons; I had to completely remove it.

Does it have any whitelisting capability?

  • Probably something to do with the nature of data being transmitted to the affiliate sites.

I null-route all known affiliate sites by adding an entry into the etc/hosts files on the PC which ensures that they are blocked across browsers. I have also blocked those sites at the wi-fi router that my smartphone uses.

While I can't say anything about the exact software or plugin (I'm not using those), I can say that there are no affiliate links in the browser addon. The only affiliate links are in the notification emails that you need to specifically sign up for.
