Reality render grey

Hey guys, I bought reality about a month ago and really haven't been able to use it, because I have no clue what I'm doing wrong, even after following video tutorials biblicly. The pic I have posted is what it's doing, it basically starts to render, then stops after it reaches a certain point and will go no further than this grey mess. I even let one render run for almost 2 hours, and got the same. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thx so much!

a lot of what you are seeing is render noise and will disappear over time when enough samples have been calculated.
Also try changing the Tone Mapping from Audio Linear to Linear (see screen shot) which will give you more control over your scenes lighting.
You should let Lux run until you get to at least 1000 s/p which can take several hrs. It's not unusual for a render to take 10 hrs or more depending on your machines specs.
Also under the Advanced Tab in Reality try changing the Lux Display Refresh Interval to something like 30 seconds & Lux Write Interval to 600 seconds (10 mins) as this will help to cut down the rendering time (see 2nd screen shot), These can also be changed within LuxRender's main window as will.
Just a quick question, What type of lighting are you using?
Is the scene lit only from the doorway? If that's the case your problem is that the interior of this room is not receiving enough light. The autolinear kernel is trying to compensate for this by overexposing the scene and thus emphasizing the noise. What you need to do is to light the interior. Paolo from Pret-a-3d has done a tutorial on this subject which explains the issues in detail (here). Although it is for an older version of Reality, all the advice still applies. I have no idea how long your scene would take to clear as it is, but I suspect it's an unfeasibly long time.
I recommend you always use the Linear kernel, which is the equivalent of setting exposure manually on a camera (except that you don't need a light meter!).
In addition to lighting the interior check that you have turned the following option UNCHECKED
Thank you for the responses, doing some checking...
