Zbrush Tutorials question

Hey, I was wondering if Zbrush Core would be good for these tutorials.  I'm sure there is a demo version of Zbrush that could be used if you don't have the money to spare but I actually own Zbrush Core licenses so I'm just wondering.

Maybe for the basics but not the advanced stuff?

The biggest limitations I've found so far between Core and the full version (the trial at least, which I'm still using) is that Core doesn't support GoZ (but you can export OBJs from Studio manually and reimport as morphs, just takes longer), you get far fewer brushes (but not a huge deal if you're mainly editing DAZ content), and (correct me if I'm wrong) doesn't let you create UVs for anything that you make in it (which makes creating all new content to use in Studio more of a pain). Of course there are hundreds of advanced features and plugins that Core doesn't have, I'm mainly just talking about usage with Studio. I'm not 100% sure if Flippednormal's tutorials would be terribly useful for Core users because they're going to describe making something entirely in Zbrush and likely using many of its more advanced tools.

Anyway, there are quite some differences between ZBrush and the Core version, though... Core is fully usable. Check out this comparison chart. So, as Snow also mentioned, there's the lack of GoZ but you're also limited with PolyPaint (which can be an extremely useful feature), no 2d and 2.5d (which can be key, depending on your projects) and of course.. less polygons and way less brushes.

I can't comment in detail because I jumped right into the full ZBrush, cost me an arm and a leg but IMO it was definitely worth it, but if there's one thing I've learned (note: I'm still between newbie & intermediate myself) it's that.. it depends on your projects.  or the tutorial you're following ;)

But from what I can tell you should be able to get a good basic grip on ZBrush and learn all the basics when using Core. Just don't expect advanced features.

Snow guessed correctly when he mentioned the FlippedNormals' tutorials.  I have one of them but I only have Core.  I think I will go with core for now to just get the basics down but will purchase the full ZBrush at a later date.
