What DAZ Movie Making tips do you have?

I'm thinking about all the ways you can approach moving making in DAZ.  Is there anything  you'd share with us?  Anything you'd like to see?   Anything you are trying to figure out?

Or

Have you made anything you can share with us or do you just use DAZ for still renders?

  • Render to .png then stitch together the images in a dedicated movie making program.

    Use Blender instead.

Definitely render a series of images as opposed to a movie as @Catherine3678ab suggested. I would add that you could also do the following if you are rendering in Iray and have enough VRAM:

    1. Render a single frame to a new window. It doesn't matter how long you let it cook, but make sure you do not close this window.

    2. Render your image series directly to file.

Rendering a single frame to a new window and leaving it open results in data remaining in the VRAM of the video card so it doesn't have to be re-loaded for each frame of your image series. This saves a bunch of time. Again, you just have to make sure you have enough VRAM to leave the initial render open.

    HTH.

Only tip I can give is be patient because making a movie will require rendering a lot of images.

or iClone.  Or just about any other 3D program that lets you port in DAZ products, really. DAZ is great for still images, and while they've made some progress as of late, the animation tools are still woefully behind where everyone else is.

learn the art of actual filmmaking.
Particularly Cinematic shot framing and editing.

Most beginning 3D animators frame everything in  wide
head to toe shots to show off thier Characters clothing/ouftits
or scene sets/props..this is a mistake

And study the work of this man:

He has nothing to do with 3D programs or VFX but his editing advice will
make you a better filmmaker no matter what programs you are using.

  • There are several plugins to assist with animations in Daz Studio. Takes time to learn how-to. There are people using Daz Studio for animations. {no I don't have a list}. There is a thread in the forums that animators have been making good use of, might want to check there for some ideas to.

Another idea some have is to render the background image as a still, then hide all that and render the characters on their own. Again, glueing all together in dedicated movie making programs that can make use of several tracks/layers. Watch the shadows though if trying this method ;-)

Those TikToks are cool.  What are you using to render and how?  They are so big.
