Issue with mouse while selecting items

Does anyone else have this problem?

While clicking on items in the scene window, it will sometimes keep multiple items highlighted, like it was ctrl clicked, or the entire list will highlight like a shift click, or something will accidentally parent itself to something else I've clicked on. I've tried multiple mice and issue still occurs.

Yes, this has been reported - but since it's hard to get it to happen on demand it's obviously hard to diagnose and fix.
