Camera Translation: save parameters?

I sometimes need to have an identical camera view in two scenes so I am wondering whether it is possible to save the positions of all the translation sliders for that camera (in most cases, the Default Camera)? To be clear, these are separate scenes, not the same scene closed and re-opened.

  • you can save a camera preset, which should then load the exact camera into a new or other scene, assuming an actual camera and not just perspective view.

    I thought I had tried that but maybe I got something wrong. I'll give it another go.

    Yes it is a camera and not the perspective view. I always load a new scene with a default camera.

    Scene subset will save whatever you choose, and you can load the subset to other scenes as it is.

    No idea what I did wrong the first time but I have tried it again and, as you say, the Camera Preset saves the translations and other settings (DOF, etc.) just fine. Thanks.

    Do what I do, just use puppeteer to save your cameras and simply save your scene as normal, or save a puppeteer preset to apply to as many new cameras as you want!

    Puppeteer is one of those DAZ utilities that I tried a couple of times and couldn't get any joy with it. I probably need to watch a tutorial on how it works but that sliding between dots seems so imprecise to me that I gave up on it quickly. How I would use it to save camera presets is quite beyond me. 

    Anyhow, the regular way of saving the camera preset seems to work just fine now - I can't imagine why it didn't work for me previously.

    I'm glad it worked out for you, as far as using puppeteer for cameras, all you need to do is select your camera and if your cam is not selected just go to puppeteer's drop-down menu and select the camera, and go to puppeteer and make a dot... that's it, your camera state is stored, that includes the cam settings such as FOV and focal length!

    I use puppeteer for all my poses, and I can transfer those poses between characters!

    Got it, thanks. I don't have a working RTF reader on my PC but I can upload it to Google Drive and read it there. This will answer a few questions I have as I often read posts here saying they use Puppeteer to save things. I always try to find the relevant preset save option in the File menu.

     @takezo_3001, Hello, I'm trying to use puppeteer to memory my camera, but here is a problem: I dot (edit) few camera positions, then in last position, I opened the camera's FOV, and change its focal length and focal frame size, save the whole scene. The sad thing is, when go back to previous puppeteer dots, the camera still using the last FOV and focal length and frame size, so it can not focus on previous target. Does this mean the puppeteer can only remember position and pose, can not memory every point's camera perameters?
