The clue is in the name. Those are morphs, which complement a separate product, the LIE Face Bruises, as it says in the description.
I just noticed that the PAs asked a question of the Daz team that was inadvertently left on the product page under details.
Hi, thank you for purchasing our product. As @margrave mentioned, this is an add-on that was later released to compliment "LIE Face Bruises for Genesis 3 & 8" which contains the actual bruise texture for both males and females.
Hahaha, I just noticed that too after you mentioned it. I never did get a reply to that so I'm not sure if people who had the Face Bruises at the time the morphs launched got the extra discount or not.
Ok thank you so much!!!! I don't think I have this , I will buy it soon.
I try to test it on my model how can I make the color more stronger , as you see before the rendering it looks very good , after the rendering not see the injuries so well. Thank you (2pictures)
Yes I try it but for some reason its still not so noticable in this model , but I try on other models and its work very well!
Maybe because I change her skin to 70% because if her skin 0% like she was she so PALE lol xD
But LOVE THIS STUFF SO MUCH! Hope I will succsess to put it on my main character to , for now the color not so strong but I will try what you say to put more and more even 7 times if need! hehe =D
Ok, it's been a while since we did that product, so I just went to check the files and I remembered this LIE doesn't apply a copy into the translucency channel. So if your character has high translucency values, the bruises will indeed look faded. So what you can do is apply the diffuse channel map created via LIE (for the face and lips surfaces) to the translucency channel (provided the PA built the character using the same map as the diffuse). If the translucency map is different (a lighter version), then you'll want to:
I'm attaching part of the instructions for LIE Face Burns which ran into the same problem if the character had high translucency.
Thank you very much for this all details! But its mess her all tattoos she got :/
Maybe you have more ideas or stuff to buy who help me with that?
Are the tattoos baked into the skin? Or are they LIE?
If they are LIE, you can open the Layered Image Editor and move the layer of the tattoo on top of the bruises layers. Or, add the LIE Tattoo after you have added the LIE Bruises.
The other alternative would be for you to copy the diffuse layer (with the LIE) into the "Diffuse Overlay Color" Channel. Then in the "Diffuse Overlay Weight," you would need to create a mask. So make note of the bruises you're using. To do this last, you will need to:
Ah, I just thought of another way. So if the tattoos are indeed baked into the skin. Then you could open the layered image editor of the diffuse map and select (one by one) the layers that contain the bruises and change the Blend Mode from "Alpha Channel Blend" to "Multiply". Keep in mind that the tattoos will darken considerably, so you want to use the light version of the tattoos. You will still need to add them to the translucency channel or lower the translucency weight for them to show up, though. But if the tattoos are black, blending the bruises with multiply will ensure they don't show up as though they are sitting/painted "above" the tattoo.
Thank you very very much for your help! I do it and the tattoos is the same! The problem is the color of the injuries is still fade , only if I change her all skin it looks good but she looks pale again.
Shame don't have something to play with the colors , you have maybe more L.I.E. FACE BRUISES that stronger? I will buy for sure if have
Your awsome BTW to try help me! :)
BTW I try the black injuries for another character and it still not looks so clear , I didn't change her skin.
Did you try adding the bruises manually to the translucency channel map? High translucency means that the map in the translucency channel has a big impact on the overall look once it's rendered. So if the bruises aren't there, then they will look really faded. Some PAs also add a "Top Coat" which can also impact whether the bruises will be visible or not. At the time this pack came out, Genesis 8 had just launched and most Genesis 3 Characters didn't have high translucency values (so it wasn't as necessary at the time to build the LIE with a copy of the bruises in the translucency channel).
BTW, if lowering the translucency values make the bruise look better but makes the character looks too pale, try adding soft yellowish color to the translucency color channel to give the skin some warmth. What character skin are you using (so I can take a look and see if I have it)?
Ow ok I get it , I use genesis 8 girls only =D About how I put it on the model I just drag the picture Layered to my model.
I uploaded picture , that was your question?
Yeah, see, your charactwe has a Translucency value of 70. So you will need to add the bruises to that layer using the layered image editor. Here's a quick video by Second Circle that shows how LIE works (how to open it). You want to do the same, but on the translucency layer.
Ok I will try it thank you so much for your amazing HELP! :)
BTW maybe you plan to make more of this stuff for GENESIS 8? I will buy it for sure! =D
Once you're done setting up the LIE layers on the translucency channel, you can save that as a LIE preset to reuse on any other character from the same generation.
Alternately, since you're wanting to use the same images, you could make a copy of the original DUF file for the LIE preset you bought, use 7zip to open the archive (asssuming that the Duf file has been compressed) and use a text editor of your choice to replace DIFFUSE with TRANSLUCENCY (you'll understand what I mean as soon as you see the text of the DUF file) and then save it while exiting 7zip.
This should leave you with a new DUF file that will apply all the same maps as the original bought file to your translucency layer. Hope this helps someone.
@Foxyfoxfurries, I'll keep that in mind if we ever do an update to these bruises or create more. I'll need to bounce it off with DAZ first. Unfortunately, updating the product to today's standards would be too time-consuming to make it a free update. But we worry that releasing it as a paid update would have people angry that we didn't update it for free. So we've been trying to figure out if there's a solution. Of course, we can create new bruises, but I think we did a great job already in covering most of the body so there aren't that many different bruises we could do. I have been discussing with Esid the possible solution of creating an updated version of these bruises (wherein they apply to the translucency channel) but adding extra textures to showcase bruises at different levels of healing. We shall see what happens, as right now we have our hands a bit full with the products we're working on ;).
Adding to @Spacious great solution, I recommend:
