skies are disappearing
Hello everyone,
I don't know if anyone can help me figure this out, but it is driving me crazy trying to figure the issue.
I have iray server, and place my renders in que. I have done about 3300 images for a game i am making, as well as running animations. When I do the test renders, I see the sky and the lighting is good. I run it through the server, and in the finished, it shows the sky as well. I then take a look at the original image through either photo viewer or fastone viewer and the place where the sky was, it is black or white. I cannot figure why this is, and what am I doing wrong?
If the sky is there in the previews through iray, and also my test renders, then why is it that the viewers all change the backgrounds to either black or white. I have even tried placing them through fireworks and the same issue.
please help! Thanks

It sounds as if it is not set to render the dome, if you save the image in a format that doesn't support alpha channels then any areas that don't have mesh will usually come out black.
I have the dome turned on, so I could see the skies. its saving it as a png as well, which supports alpha I believe. But what you said does make sense now. I just don't want to re-render 3300 images :)
An option you could do is, do a render of just the sky at the angle you want (assuming the same angle is being used across most of your images) and put the two images together in say Photoshop? That way you wouldn't have to re-render all those scenes.
i have already rendered skies in a seperate rendering scene, and now have started to import these skies into the images through fireworks and photoshop... at least it won't take me a month, but only a day. Still need to figure out why it shows in previews and test renders but not in the PNG format afterwards. is there a way to have daz render the sky if the skies don't have a mesh system on them? Im using oristes skies to prduce most of the skies, and using lighting effects as well. can anyone give me a tip? I would greatly appreciate it. I am no pro at daz, but am striving to be.
thanks!
