Script or Plugin to move things until they hit something?

in The Commons
A problem I keep having is needing to put a character's feet on the ground. I know about Ctrl-D but apparently I'm really drawn to uneven ground. It seems like it should be possible to move an object in an arbitrary direction until it's mesh comes in contact with another mesh. Even better if one object or both could respond ragdoll-style to the impact. I know if I had such a script or Plugin to move things until they hit something else I'd find more and more uses for it than just putting feet on uneven surfaces. Is this something that d-force can be tricked into doing? Or, is there such a helpful addon already out there? Or am I completely missing something obvious?

Daz needs to completely overhaul its IK system before it can do something as complicated as "position limbs where the end user wants them to be".
There is the mcjAutoLimb2015 script, but it's a post-process thing. You set a Null target, then run the script, and it automatically moves the foot to the target. Or it tries to, anyway -- as I said, IK isn't Daz's strong suit.
Actually someone did make a script to drop things to the ground, including uneven ground, you can find it on sharecg, will look for it and post the link.
ok found it, and you need the mcjcasual collision script

I think Draagonstorm used to have one called "Drop It" or something similar, but I can't find it in the store. I might be misremembering tho, but I don't think so (tho I probably have the name wrong....lol).
Edit: I checked my freebies folders and it was a script called "Come On Down", but since it was free and Draagonstorm has since passed away, I don't know if you can get it anymore :'(.
Edit 2: Wow, it is still up at ShareCG. "Come On Down". You still need mcjcollider btw and can get that here: mcasual's mcjcollider
Can you tell us the name of the plugin, as there are no links for the ShareCG plugin...
Scratch that, AllenArt provided it! Thanks, AA!
Thanks everyone, I'll check out those suggestions.
