Changing colors and transparency

In the new studio when you select a figure or an object what can you do to change the outer appearance of color on the object or figure and how can we make it look slightly transparent?

Select the object/figure in the Scene Tab, go to Surfaces Tab and select the surfaces(s) of interest and fiddle with the dials for color - ambient, diffuse, etc. and for transparency maybe the Opacity setting will work for you.

You may get more realistic results with the REFRACTION sliders.  They can be found in the same place as the suggestion above.  There's two of them and they work together.

Edit: I typed translucency when I meant to type refraction.  It's a big difference.  Oops

Depending on the shader you are using, if your using the Uber based ones just adjust the Opacity slider, if it's the PBRskin shader translucency.

I don't know how I did it, but in my last post I typed translucency when I meant REFRACTION.  It's a huge difference and I apologize for any confusion.  I was al ittle out of it.  I edited the post as well.

I personally try to avoid using the cutout opacity unless in conjuction with a map to make a cutout.  To me it just looks fake compared to refraction, which is a volumetric effect.
