I forgot how to save the customizes tools choice on the toolbar. Please advise!

What I do now - I press F3 and then on the right side from Activities and Toolbars delete/chose/add/move ahead/back the tools I want to be on the toolbar. So far so good. But then I try to press "Apply" and then "Accept" as well as directly "Accept" but in both cases the selection dissapear and only the standard tool for the active toolbars remain.

  • Are you creating a new toolbar? If so you need to enable it, through the right-click menu, in the Activities tab.

No, no - I use the exisitng "Tools" toolbar and just delete the stuff I rarely use.

  • Then Accept or Apply should save the changes.

  • No matter when and what I use (apply and accept or directly accept) the deleted tools always appear

Aren't some tools in more than one toolbar? Maybe you are deleting from one but viewing another?
  • Can you add new buttons? Which are you trying to remove?

I'm trying to add only the basci tools which are not in the Basic tools toolbar plus Render (not shore from which toolbar it came).

Actually the removed tools from the Tools toolbar (not the basic tools toolbar) always reappear.

  • I'm not sure what you mean - can you give some specific examples.

Just trying to help make sure OP is following the right procedure...

    • Right click on your toolbar and check which toolbars have been activated (you can see by the carrot sign).
    • Press F3 (opens the customize option window) and in the activities section (right side) make sure the toolbars match with what you saw before (this is important). Also check that you're working on the right base layout (see upper left corner).
    • On the right side open the 'toolbars' section.
    • Expand the toolbar(s) you want to edit, right click on an item you want removed and then click "Remove Item".
    • Keep removing items until satisfied.
    • Then you can either press 'Apply' (saves changes, keeps the option open) or 'Accept' (saves & exits) to save the changes, I often do both just to be sure.

    Hope this can help.

I was doing exactly the same... so I just started moving the icons I want on the toolbar into the "Basic tools" toolbar and when I clicked Apply and Accept they remained there and active, so this decided the problem for me.
