I thought he was supposed to be like Rodrigo Santoro as Xerxes from the movie "300."
Now that you pointed it out, I don't think I'll be able to unsee that either.
I think Ashan looks like Jeremy Meeks. He is the guy who had his carreer in the fashion industry lauched by his felony mug shot.

A couple of the later promo pics -- one in which he's smiling -- make me think of Ricky Whittle, from "The 100" and "American Gods".
I see only see a faint resemblance to anyone mentioned so far
I always thought he looked like the bad guy from Far Cry 3, who was modeled after actor Michael Mando.
There must be something wrong with my monitors as the only one I see (faintly) is one of my brothers friends, although he is famous worldwide for winning the "Mr Finland" title in 1994

I wasn't seeing Yul Brynner, but then realized that I was actually thinking of Telly Savalas as Kojak.
Well, I may as well chime in as I now know who that guy 3D model Aslan reminds me of, but not identical to:
a) Larry Hagman
b) Stuart Adamson (of the band Big Country)
Adamson & Hagman look similar to me no surprise.
Scar 8 looks more like Yul Brynner to me.
Ashan 8 seems more like a professional athlete face, but I can't quite place him either. Not Neymar, but perhaps the right look for a Brazillian footballer.
