Hi, I need to create a shareable product, so I need all assets to be in a separate directory. How do I set a material preset like a regular Daz product, with all necessary files (starting with textures) saved in the same content directory as the figure asset?

Create your new, empty content directory, add it to Daz Studio (though right-click on Daz Studio Formats>Add base Directory), put the textures in it, apply them through the Surfaces pane if they were previously applied from outside any content directory (or in a different folder within a content directory), save the materials preset to a folder in that content directory, add a read me, and zip the whole thing up.
Well, that's what I want to avoid, doing it manually. I'm asking if there is a way to organize custom content like the regular products, without having to set up the entire folder structure.
Well, you have to set it up somewhere whether in its own folder or mixed in with other content.
Since you are creating a "shareable" product, we must assume that every file in it is something you created yourself, because you cannot legally redistribute Daz or other PA files. Even merchant resources usually require you to modify/customize the content. So, since you are creating these files, you have to save them somewhere, as Richard says. Save them in the new empty content directory. They need to be in the proper folder hierarchy. You need to create only the folders you need. If you are creating a character, for example, you don't have to set up a Props folder.
V3Digitimes has some tools that can help you analyze and move map files, etc. Those might help.

That's what I feared, for a software which main feature is the streamlined assets system, these are ridiculously convoluted to create.
