Editing/Manipulating Imported Animations

Greetings,

I am dabbling in animations, and it seems that most that I find are fairly descent, but they always lack hand gestures. For example, an idle standing pose, with mild swaying side to side or whatever, always has the blatantly obivous flat-out manekin style hands.

My question is, how do I go about editing this so that I can make it a bit more in-tune with the rest of the figure's animated actions? As an example, with a standing idle pose, I want the character to be holding something, but the hands are flat, straight & boring. Do I have to edit every single tick within each frame?

Regards.

You can delete keyframes for just the hand and its child nodes, and make however many keyframes you need for your new animation.

Ahh, okay. I am still learning about keyframes. I am having issues with them in that they don't seem to exist for me, at least not in the place the videos show them to be. I'll have to go back and start from the beginning again to see where I missed it.

    Thanks.

Which version of DS are you using? There should be a Timeline tab at the bottom of the window that you can click to expand the Timeline.

This is old video with Old Figure but the basic idea about layering or overriding animation beneath it still the same .   Also check all GoFigure tutorial to understand how to work with Animate as animation tool .

All interface maybe changed in recent DAZ version but the basic uses still the same
