Is it possible to combine or merge a number of different runtimes?

I am wondering about the question I posted in the title.

Can this be done in any way?
Or does each runtime have to remain separate?

Thanks.

The short answer is, yes. Assuming that you are referring to content folders that are actually labelled "Runtime", then you need only select all the contents of one and move them to the other. If any duplicates exist, however, the process will halt with a popup asking you for direction, so the process may involve more than just starting it and walking away. This can happen if readme files are given the title "readme", for example.

On the other hand, if you are talking about content folders other than a designated "runtime" folder, that can also be done but requires that folder structure be honoured, otherwise you'll end up with a mishmash. This is particularly true, for example, when combining older and newer DAZ content folders due to the fact that folder naming conventions have changed over the years. More manual transferring may be required here, rather than dragging and dropping the whole thing.

Finally, you'll need to ensure that your content database is updated to capture the new locations of all the content and get rid of any empty or now non-existent locations.

I will give you an example of what I want to do......
I would like to put all of my Stonemason items in one runtime. If I understand you correctly, I need to copy the items from one runtime, and then paste these runtime items into the runtime which will be used to hold all of my Stonemason items.

Is that the idea in general?
