Select Clothing On Click Rather than Character Wearing It

Is there a way to select a clothing item by clicking on it rather than always selecting the character it's fit to? When I have alternate clothes sets in a scene, or I parent some clothing to something, but don't remember what, finding them can become near impossible. It's really frustrating if you can see it in scene, but not select it. I know it often makes sense to select the character instead of clothes, but not always. Is there a way to do this?

just as barbult say and another trick will be in Scene Tab click X symbol - below the arrow and before your figure name . Dont forget to click again if you want to select character`s body part
If you right click on the item with the Node Selection Tool there will often (depending on where you click) be a "select" option on the Context Menu:

Thanks! 2 out 3 of those worked. Clicking the x in the Scene Tab to make a character unselectable still didn't work because while it prevents you from clicking the character itself it will still select the character if you click the clothing.
As Meatloaf would say, "Two out of three ain't bad"!
X'ing the characters/objects top node only doesn't work (I'm not sure what that actually does?), you must press Ctrl while clicking, that will x all the child nodes also and that works. Just remember to do the same when you make the character selectable again. If something is parented to the character/object that will be made unselectable too though so that's not always the solution.
Not the same thing but still a handy tip is to use the CTRL-Click on the little eye icon (visibility toggle) to make the figure and anything parented to the figure invisible. Very useful when you have more than one figure wearing dForce clothes and you want to simulate individually.
