Most G8F hair shows up in the daz store as compatible with g8.1 When I load dforce Darcy 8 Hair onto Jinx 8.1 it says it is incompatible. (The store show it as compatible). G8F is not available as a clone. Do I need to install or do something to get it to work?

My last render used dForce Jay hair on Brooke 8.1, and there were no issues with that. Exactly what error message are you getting? Is it trying to autofit?
Also, I don't have Jinx, but I just loaded Darcy hair onto Jada, and got no error message. Maybe there's something wrong with Jinx's scene identification?
Which version of DS are you using?
This is most likely the issue - the ability to automatically associate Genesis 8 stuff with Genesis 8.1 is a very new feature, though I think it may be supported in the last 4.14.x.x release(unlike the PBR Skin shader, which I think does need at least 4.15.0.2)
Okay, I see what I did wrong. It needs to be rendered to be scene and doesn't need to be fitted to the character.
There shouldn't be an issue with fitting it to the character, though. If you're having problems fitting the hair to Jinx, that does need to be investigated since, as I said, I haven't had any problems fitting G8 hair to G8.1.
I don't have that asset, but probably what's happening is the dev set it up so that the hair is hidden by default while in texture shaded mode to save on resources. If you want the hair to be visible in texture shaded, you need to select the hair object (note: sometimes the actual hair object is located within the hair group), go to Parameters > Simulation, and turn on 'Preview PR Hairs'. You also need to go to Parameters > Line Tessellation and increase "Viewport Line Tessellation Sides" to 2.
To my knowledge all G8 Hairs are compatible with 8.1. I don't know this for sure as I haven't tried every single hair, but the G8.1 mesh is exactly the same as G8, so in theory I can't think of any reason why any hairs meant for G8 would be incompatible.
