converting props G3M to G8F

Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to convert a G3M smart prop clothing item to a G8F character?

    did you check the converters in the store? 
    Did you try to load it with autofit ... and say none for type of item. 
    smart prop just means you don't have to put it in the scene parent it to the hand and arrange the fingers around it. 
    --
    put a g3m in the scene with the smart prop 
    put a g8f (copy the pose?) or both in default 
    move the g8 on top of the g3 line up the hands then reparent the prop to the g8?
