Any way to restore memory without restarting computer?

in The Commons
Hello -
In some of my scenes that don't seem to be any heavier than others, DAZ will crash on the initiation of iterations and requires the computer to be restarted. This is clearly a RAM issue, but does anyone know of a way to refresh memory without a hard reboot? I've tried several that don't seem to work.
Thanks.

How do you measure "don't seem to be any heavier"?
One little puppy by itself can already crash a computer with 32GB's of RAM (memory), a pair of ordinary boots can reserve 50MB's or 700MB's without looking any different.
If your computer runs out of memory (RAM), you can try increasing the virtual memory (on your harddrive/SSD) but based on what has been written here, DS may still crash if forced to use it.
I had two characters in the scene, both of which were at a mesh resolution (render) of 3. I reduced one of them to 2, and the test render started and ran to completion without incident. Visually, the reduction of the one character's mesh resolution is not appreciable, so I'm hoping this particular issue is resolved.
