I just downloaded DazCentral and Daz Studio manually but no matter what I try I cant access Smart Content or the content Labrary becasue it keeps giging me an PostgreSQL error which I cant figure out how to fix.  The error asks me to establish a databse sicne it cant find a database but I aslso dont know to do that.  Can someone please help me fix this issue.  Here are some of the screenshots of my problem.

Install the PostgreSQL database through DazCentral.

  • And did you install PostgreSQL? Have you checked your security settings?

When installing DAZ Studio, the PostgreSQL database is installed in the directory C: \ Program Files \ DAZ 3D \

This database is managed by DAZStudio.
It is therefore not necessary to manage it with the pgAdmin3.exe utility.

I advise you to check beforehand that the file below is present on your computer:
    C: \ Program Files \ DAZ 3D \ PostgreSQL CMS \ bin \ postgres.exe
If this file is missing, your database has not been installed.

For those who would like to read the database, managed by DaZStudio, it is first necessary to establish a connection with the program pgAdmin3.exe.
To do this, you must either be root and know the password, or have a user account (user + password) with certain read and write rights.
If you aren't an experienced computer scientist, I strongly advise against attempting this operation.
Indeed, DAZStudio manages this database perfectly well, and there is no need to access it by any other means.

In your case, Daz Studio provides you with interesting error messages.

    • Try to temporarily disable your Antivirus and reboot your PC before launching DazStudio.
    • If the problem persists, check whether there is an exception in the Firewall that blocks PostgreSQL connections
    • Then you need to know if it is you or someone else who installed DazStudio on the computer (because if the user accounts are different this can prevent connection to the database)
  • Will my DAZ studio keep on working without a proper PostgreSQL install?
I just can't get it to work. The DS installer just can't finish the install process, when it comes to PostgreSQL install, no matter, if I disable tempory the antivirus or using admintrator rights.
After 25 minutes installing time, I had to skip the PostgreSQL install with the task manager in order to have a working DS.
So will DAZ Studio will keep on working without a DAZ-account connection?

Mostly, AutoFit uis likely to be the most obvious issue though there are other things that make use of the Content Management System (and there are likely to be others in the future).

Connecting to your Daz account is wholly optional, PostgreSQL is providing the database driven content views (Categories, Products, the presets tabs in property panes) and other features that require content to be identified - it works purely locally.

While it would "work" somewhat I still wouldn't recommend it. Instead I'd try to find the cause of the problems as to why it isn't installing. It really isn't all that special, it's just a database running in the background and the files themselves only take up approx. 65Mb, which is peanuts in this day and age. I can't help wonder if this isn't an indication of some other probrlems with your hardware. You could ignore them, but then the question remains when they'll show up again.
