? Less hassle (easier learning curve) FaceGen Artist or Headshop 13?
Want to take advantage of the CREATE80 sale by getting something from my wishlist that I usually think is too expensive for the limited use that I would have.
Am interested in one of the head photo-to-morph-and-texture plugins.

- HeadShop 13 with LoveChild by Aballone LLC - https://www.daz3d.com/headshop-13-with-lovechild-
1) Duplication? Am I correct in believing they do similar functions? Or does one do something the other does not? Or is there no overlap at all?
2) Ease of use? I am not particularly sophisticated in Studio plugins and don't REALLY need to get morphs close to photographs, so ease of use is relatively more important. How difficult is it to learn these?

They doth do basically the same thing, take a photo and trun it into a face morph. I have facegen and it works fairly well and is very easy to use. With both apps, the quality of the image will be the deciding factor on how well they work, garbage in = garbage out
Thank you. Appreciate the helpful info.
Just my personal opinion here but I wouldn't get either these days. I don't believe either of them work natively with the Genesis range of models, both use intermediary figures which is then translated to the Daz figures. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this. Of the two though, I found that Facegen delivered the best results but others may differ with that.
I would use Face Transfer that comes natively with the newer Daz Studios. I've been having some good success with it recently. If you get this one, you'll need the unlimited version:

Then get Face Transfer Shapes to 'fix' the results (this is a must iMO):

Face Transfer is limited to G8F and G8M (not 8.1 yet) but that may not be an issue for you.
Whichever one you use, getting the right type of photo is the most important thing and they'll always need other morphs dialling in. None of them will be great with a poor photo. At best you get a base look-a-like to start with. Although, you can get some create characters by ditching the generated textures and simply using the new morph with existing textures.
Hope that helps.
