What's to be done with Studio Companion Files?

I've noticed that some older products present two zip files: one holds the product; the second hold what are called StudioCF (DAZ Studio Companion Files). The first are installed to the Poser Formats, but what is one to do with the Companion Files? Are they to be installed in the DAZ Studio Formats? Thanks to one and all.

If there is a Studio Companion File, it will usually (if not always) have DAZ Studio-native material presets that are optimized for 3DL shaders. The Poser Materials/Mat Poses (.pz2, sometimes .mc6, partially) will still load, but they are usually a little off and need to be adjusted. (That's a standard disclaimer on some older Poser products that do not have DS material presets.)

  • Thank you very much, NorthOf45. I suppose one just tucks them away under DAZ Studio formats and applies them as neccessary. I appreciate it your taking the time.

Glad to help. They will be installed to the DAZ Studio Formats library by default, no need to do anything else.
