What does DForce mean?

edited August 2021 in Daz Studio Discussion

I see a lot of clothing items marked as "DForce" but no explanation of what that means.

I think it means "Capable of running in a DForce Simulation," possibly without exploding.

Is that all there is to it, or is there something more?

    It stands for "Daz Force".

Since the store still doesn't have an adequate tagging system, the only way to indicate a product is dForce-compatible is to put it in the name.

So the point is, then, to differentiate it from some older items which may have a mesh that is problematic in a Simulation, yes?

I like to ask rather than guess.

An item marketed as "dForce XXX" will include dForce settings and/or weight maps setup by the vendor, and will have been tested as an item meant to be used with a simulation.

I see, thank you. This has never been clear to me.
