Is it possible to have clothing ignore certain body parts when posing?
I have a character that is sitting cross legged while levitating wearing a long coat.
Naturally the coat will follow the characters legs which normally would be great and all but for a character floating it doesn't look right.
Is it possible to somehow tick off some posing/shaping option that will have the coat ignore the leg posing?
I managed a work around by duplicating the character and coat then power posing their legs down then hiding the dupes but i figured id ask as there seems like there should be an easier way?

Can you dforce the lower part of the coat so that it hangs down?
That was something i tried but after siming it for a few percents i didnt see it change movement so i gave up assuming it wasnt a dforce object..
but now that i say that, i can make it one.. huh, gona have to try it
Well, you could edit the weight maps to remove all the influnces of the leg bones (they'd get assigned to the hip instead), if anti-posing the coats bones doesn't work.
Sorry for late reply, how does one begin to do this? If this is what i think it does, it might be exactly what i was looking for
Switch to the Node Weightmap brish tool, select the garment, right-click>Geometry Selectio>Select All, select a bone you don't want to affect the garment, select its weight map (General Weights for Genesis 8), right-click>Weight Editing>Fill selected, enter 0. Repeat for the other bones.
