Strange geometic pattern on prop

I'm trying to use Photography Masters, but the prop has this odd geometric shading that shows up in my renders only on the bottom.

I've tried every material and even a couple shaders like "bone," and this pattern still appears. It's almost as if its part of the prop, but a look at the wire mesh shows nothing unusual.

Any notions? Thanks!

I've had similar problems with the Infinity Cove backdrop in Render Studio.  It looked fine in DS 4.9, but broke in 4.10 (two first renders, both with DS Default Lights).  It seemed to fixed somewhat again in a later version of DS, but there's still some artifacts with certain light settings.  The last three renders are with Pro Studio HDR 3 lights, it works fine with some of these lights, not with others, like the last one - if I however Y translate the backdrop upwards it gradually disappears and with +10 it's gone.

So it may have to do with certain light settings in certain angles causing some kind of interference pattern or something.  I've never seen curved patterns like on your screenshot though, only straight lines.

My guess is it's your ground plane interferring with the actual object.  You might have it set to manual instead of auto.  Either move the prop just a tiny bit up so it isn't clipping with the ground, or go under Render Settings>Environment>Ground Position Mode and set it to auto.

I did a quick test with iG Eternal Beauty Props and Poses for Genesis 8 Female, which has a similar prop.

    Hope it helps!

  • I'll agree with Write Idea - this is z-fighting with the ground plane. Either move it, or turn it off entirely in our environment settings.

Apparently it depends on the lighting too though as it only appears with certain light setups (at least with Infinity Cove).

Write Idea is spot on. Move your environment floor down - or disable it if your scene will be totally enclosed.

Thanks all. Turning off the ground in render settings solved the problem.
