Why can't I apply materials ?

Hi All 

I recently bought this model and hair + make-up and the underwear outfit. 

I figured out getting the character out and putting the basic items. But for some reason, I can pull out her makeup but can't apply different shades of hair color or putting different colors for her underwear. I've never had these issues with Daz studio and I was wondering what would be the problem?

Two things leap out at me:

One, you have the hair's hip bone selected instead of the hair itself.

Two, you're applying MDL materials, which are for Iray, but you're using the Filament renderer. I don't use Filament, since it's for mobile games, so I'm not sure if you can do that.

It's possibly just very over-exposed - try Create>New Filament Draw Options Node (if you don't already have one) and adjust the environment settings through the Parameters pane.
