How do I pixelate DAZ figures like 8-bit videogame graphics?

Ok, I am working on a jump'n'run and I want to pixelate the renders. What's the best option / program / plugin to create oldschool 8-bit graphics?

 if animated I just do it in Windows live moviemaker compositing it, most video compositers have pixelation.
I don't want to animate it via Movie Maker, because it would lower the quality I guess.
Is there a plugin or program available?
There are a few PhotoShop plug-ins and/or actions for Pixelation at graphicriver.net, if that helps; one example is here:

Isn't pixilating lowering the quality by definition? You're basically averaging every 16x16 (whatever) block of pixels into a single average color. Whether you do it as part of the render or in photoshop, you're basically doing the same thing. Or am I thinking about this wrong?
Honestly changing shading rate and sampling in DAZ will probably have the same effect and render very fast
Pixellating? render at a very low resolution and then upscale, with a non-interpolating filter, the image to the actual size. Super fast.

That looks like a very useful program for generating game usable sprites.
What about 16 bit graphics with no alpha? Without that Graphicriver plugin, that is. Also, is there a way to render in Daz (has to be 4.5) without alpha (transparent edges)?
Photoshop > Filter > Pixelate > Mosaic. Drag the cell size to how you like it. Create a new transparent layer and place it under your image. Now use the eraser and set it to block mode (it's usually on brush). Erase the areas you want transparent. Save as usual from there.
To render in DS without transparency, set a background color.
Window > Pane > Environment. Set it to backdrop and choose a color. If you use "deadly pink" (R255 G0 B255) or a really bright green it'll make removing the background easier as you can just select by color.
Ah, thanks. So I take it then that I will need to make the render rather big, make the pixel size large, and then shrink it down >_<</p>
