Please No More Rolled Up Jacket Sleeves

There seem to be an awful lot of men's outfits where the sleeves are rolled up.  NEWS FLASH:  Men Cannot Roll the slevees of a leather Jacket over a sweater over a shirt - up to the elbows.  I could give ridiculous examples from the store, but I don't want to single out and embarrass the artists who created the products.  Men also do not roll up the sleeves of their suit jacket.  Or their trench coat.  Or their overcoat.  Men roll up sleeves of shirts - but rarely if ever 3 layers of clothing.  It makes the outfits look so unbelievable that I don't buy them.  If you're going to create a product with a jacket with the sleeves rolled up, maybe consider making a morph to roll the sleeves down.

I just did a search for "jacket"s for GM8 and most of them don't have rolled up sleeves. Care to post examples?

Blazers with rolled sleeves tend to have faux short sleeves with fake sleeves beneath.  Women's blazers commonly do this, so it's not that strange. I have also seen men's blazers with rolled sleeves.  In that regard, I  think Lucidity and Dapper-fluid seem okay to me for this reason. (see pic).

The X-fashion claims to be leather, but it looks like thin spandex, so I don't really consider it that realistic top, to begin with. Leather just doesn't fit like that.

I'll give you pack leader though. That doesn't look good and the sleeves look unfinished.

I particularly wanted Lucidity and Leader of the Pack.  I've never seen a man roll up the sleeves of a jacket.  I'm sure if you do a Google Image Search you can find some images.

  • Leader of the pack, I think just looks unfinished. There are images of blazers with rolled-up sleeves for men, but, it is less common than for women.

Images online show male models with rolled sleeves and unbuttoned shirts, and that seems similar to what Lucidity looks.

I tend to agree. Lucidity looks like a costume and not realistic clothing to me, so the sleeves make sense to me. the X-fashion jacket makes perfect sense to me when you consider the other parts of the outfit. Now if you use the jacket with other tops, I can see the issue. Pack leader just doesn't look good/quality in any aspect to me, but then again that is only one of all the ones I searched and the OP made it seem like this was an epidemic of rolled up sleeves, LOL

I think it's strange but then I've only worn blazers, jackets, and such as required for the job or formal occasion or because of their intended functionality. If it's cold I wear a jacket, if it's hot, I take off the jacket. It's probably an L.A. thing. It's always 70 degrees and dry there so whatever you are going to wear - it is a fashion statement. Functionality comes a distant second. Not that that's bad, just not practical in most of the world.

I have a couple of items like that, but they're more like the sleeves are just pushed up, but not rolled up.

When I worked for a corporation and had to 'dress for success' in management, and still work on a computer 95% of the day, I found my jacket and blouse sleeves snagging on the mouse pad, keyboard... Drove me nuts. So, I subconsciously pushed up my right arm sleeve all the time. Then I found jackets sold with pre-built in rolled in sleeves ending 3/4th way up my arm. Looked stupid.

I was in California and it can get cold, but not like regions where there is a distinct four seasons. My winter coat there, was only good for late spring/early fall in Colorado after I moved.

Unfortunately, there have been some very bad styles in every era. The 80s gave up those shoulder pads, the 60s leisure suits and 'Big Hair', the 90s the grunge look and goth. There were the bustles in the late 1800s, the hobble skirt of the early 1900s, and do I need to bring up 'butt-floss' outfits thanks to a movie star in the 80s?

I think folks will look back on today's fashion and wonder why women paid way too much for jeans with torn out patches for fabric, or pants so skinny & tight, everyone could tell the style of underwear being worn, or not. Or pants that end mid-shin that only a super-thin person can wear without looking heavy or thick.

"Butt-floss"... As a non-native english speaker, one learns interesting new terms here blush

OMG, Keith Urban is on the Today show right now and he's wearing a jacket with the sleeves rolled up! What perfect timing! LOL

I think the female jacket is a design choice and not rolled up but scrunched as part of the design. I’ve seen that on jackets and at the bottom of pants. To be honest, I have no idea what’s in fashion lately. It seems like the 2000’s are all about comfort, lots of jeans, hoodies, tank tops, t-shirts, the boring basics. I go to a lot of upscale events in LA and the “fashion” is all over the place, often interesting, creative and bizarre (a man showed up to an art gallery opening in a moo moo, green hair, and 8 inch platform boots with glitter!) but nothing you could look at in a movie and distinctly say that was the 2020’s. I just looked at the fall issue of Vogue and it was literally the ugliest stuff I’ve ever seen, kind of like that episode of I Love Lucy where she wears a burlap bag. I really hope we don’t see that in the Daz store lol.
