How to have one figure in wireframe and one shaded in viewport?

I am trying to match a figure to an image so I created a back plane and put the reference image on it but I need the front Daz figure to be in wireframe and the plane to stay in textured mode, is this possible or is there a better workflow to do things like this?  Thank you for any help!

  • Unfortunately Daz Studio does not support mised drawstyles - it's a pity as there are other occasions when it would be useful.

Wireframe Render might be able to help, but I'm not sure if the wireframes are only visible in the render or if you can see them in the viewport as well.

You could use the Aux Viewport: have wireframed on one, texture shaded on the other.

Sometimes it's simpler to run miltiple passes and composite them.  In this case you might do a full-size render of just the background in one draw style, then a separate pass with the background (and any HDRI dome or other objects behind the figure) hidden, so you can render the wireframe figure to a png.  Then in gimp/photoshop/whatever you drop the second layer atop the first, line it up, et voila.
