Searching for a Crusader Muslim Warrior

I am looking for a Muslim warrior outfit of the 3rd Crusade's period. It would prefer M4, Genesis, or Genesis 2.

Something along the likes of these:

Any help appreciated.

Oh my, I had no idea (I didn't look that close) but that is the setup that composes the Saracen by muddychickn.

I have way too much stuff, I get lost.

    Thanks all for the help.

I went with Genesis 2 Male and used the recently acquired Viking for G2M armor and manipulated it as best I could to look like an Ayyubid warrior. The problem is with the helmet (for M3), it is auto-fitted and has no morphs so the mail in the neck has to be deformed into place for every pose (creating morphs is not part of my skill set), it sucks, but it works.

I did find an Ayyubid's General (Saladin) armor but it is for the G2 Poser figure.

Anyway, I got him close to the Ayyubid warrior as seen in this image.

I am hopeful that some PA will see this thread and work on new warriors from the Arab, Persian, and Turkish culture.

Here is the scene. This is just a WIP, more warriors are to be added, I am not much of a postwork guru so I try to do a lot with the lighting.

  • Hey guys, I did some browsing, and I found a beautiful helmet on Renderhub, found here: https://www.renderhub.com/nicu-tepes/medieval-helmet-5-3d-model

This would go really well with any Islamic outfit you come up with, and would really give the feel of a Saracen warrior. The only downside, is you'd need to import it into Daz Studio, and then add either bones, or Dforce, to the coif to make it fit correctly around your character's shoulders. Thats not particularly hard though, importing and adding Dforce are pretty simple once you watch a couple tutorial videos on youtube.

Also, obviously you couldn't then sell your ported helmet for Daz, but you could make all the renders you want with it.

That's very nice, @nDelphi ! Very kinetic and I love the Christian's tense posture with his shoulders raised.

But isn't that an English Hand-and-a-half in the Muslim warrior's hand? And wouldn't that also be about 200 years to early for it?

  • Thanks
  • So I've been struggling to create the same general idea myself, and I finally got sick and tired of the lack of options, and created some for myself. I wanted a Ottoman themed Saracen warrior, with a turban helmet with complete aventail, a kilij sword sidearm, and proper Islamic armor. Luckily the Tus armor set for G3M, and its texture pack, cover the body armor. I used Riversoft's converter scripts to convert the Tus armor set to G8M, including the props and poses, so thats all set.

I spent the entire night last night building a proper turban helmet with a rigged aventail in 3ds max, and then I ported it to Daz, and fitted it to my character. I'll be releasing it as a freebie, as soon as I get a chance. It fits nicely over G8M's head and shoulders, and the rig I created for the aventail allows you to fit the aventail nicely over his shoulders no matter which way his head is turned. It also fits nicely over armor and clothing, including a cape.

Previously I'd built an Ottoman kilij sword and ported it to Daz, so I used that as his sidearm. I don't currently have a scabbard for it, but I'll be making one for future scenes. I'll release the kilij to you guys as a freebie as well, once the scabbard is ready and I get the posing set up for it.

I used the Tus persian armor, combined with my new sword and helmet, and the Tus spear and shield, to create the finished result. I did some tweaking on the spear as well, using some antique metal shader presets from the store to give the spear head a proper weathered, oiled iron look.

    the result is here:
