external drive help

I did everything I find on google and now hoping someone here can help me. I cannot be the only one running Daz3D on an external SSD.

It disconnects and reconnects repeatedly. I did everything I found searching google; Update drivers, shut off any power management option to both the drive and USB ports. Cannot remember the few other items that were listed but I did them all.

All suggestions - would be appreciated. Thank you

    Short list.

    Try a different cable.

    Try a different port.

    Try connecting to a different computer.

    Try shucking the drive and putting directly in the computer(note this may violate any warranty you may have) if it can be done.

     

    In all honesty, the drive is probably just failing and you'll need to do a warranty claim, or replace it.

    It's also possible that your OS install has gotten corrupted, or that your mobo has a problem, or, or, or.

    The list of possibilities for this particular issue is pretty big.

    Also, check your Power & Sleep settings, set everything to be on all the time.
