Is there an Ideal Bump Setting for Skin?

I am really wondering about bump settings in DAZ for skin (I use Genesis, primarily). Has anyone found something ideal for close up or far away renders? Also, what about a negative bump setting? Should I make sure it's set at 0 instead of the default -0.010?
Thanks for any tips.

The basic unit of measure in DS is centimeters so +-0.01 would be 1/10th of a millimeter, way too small to have much impact on the surface shading. The biggest problem with bump s on close-ups that include the face, neck and/or shoulders is the maps scale ratio to one another. The face map is too big and hi-res in relation to the torso and limb maps so the bump shading on the face will be finer and crisper than on the neck and shoulders.
I have a Bree character which I think came with either G2F or V6.
The Bree material comes with presets for close up and distant bump settings.
'Close up' Bump Strength is reduced to 15%
'Distant' Bump Strength is increased to 25%.
The presets don't alter the min. max. values.
...but there's no standard formula as the settings depend on the particular bump map.
Thank you both. I am experimenting too, but this information helps.
depending on the grayscale levels of the bump and/or displacement that came with the model it can become a "no magic bullet" solution where test renders are repeated until you get something close enough. Turn your shadows off for these and it will speed things up.
